White Wine                                                             

Brokenwood Chardonnay - Beechworth, Vic                                                              

Great colour of pale yellow and green tints. The aromas are in the tropical spectrum with background ‘meal’ characters from the yeast lees stirring. White peach flavours initially and soft cashew, vanillin oak feature on the palate.

 

Jim Barry Watervale Riesling – Clare Valley, SA                                           

The wine in the glass has a hay like appearance with a green hue. The aromas that jump out are of ginger, spicy preserved lemon and fresh lime juice.                                                                 

 

Bleasdale Pinot Gris – Adelaide Hills, SA                                                                         

Hand-picked and whole bunch pressed. This wine was fermented in a combination of tank and seasoned French oak, before early bottling to retain the fresh pear and spice aroma. Complemented by the texture and complexity from lees stirring and a small component of oak maturation.  

 

Opawa Sauvignon Blanc – Marlborough, NZ                                                                       

This wine is bright straw colour with a hint of green. It has vivacious ripe aromas of elderflower, passionfruit skin, gooseberries and fresh herbs. The palate is refreshing and round, displaying ripe citrus, guava and passionfruit.

The G is a delicate and beautifully textured wine made to match a variety of foods especially anything with a hint of spice. It shows a delightful combination of perfumed aromas of rose petal, Turkish delight, pink musk, sweet spice and sugared almonds arise on the nose. These are carried through to the palate with good texture and richness.

 

Mesh Riesling  -  Eden Valley, SA                                                                                       

Mesh Eden Valley Riesling is green and vibrant in appearance. The aroma is zesty lemon and grapefruit with a hint of dried green herb and spice. The palate is lively and generous, with intense citrus fruit flavours and hints of talc. The wine finishes clean and dry with refreshing acidity.

 

Red Wine                                                                        

Jim Barry The Cover Drive Cabernet sauvignon – Clare Valley, SA                    

This wine is dark garnet red in colour with high clarity. The nose is very fragrant with dried herbs, cedar, cassis and sandalwood. The palate is generous with a lingering finish that shows velvety fine tannins, complemented with nuances of briary fruit and toast.

 

Smith and Hooper Merlot – Wrattonbully, SA                                                 

The bouquet is reminiscent of briar and cedar infused with rhubarb, backed by spicy clove and tobacco leaf bass notes. The palate is plush and full flavoured with aromatic red berries and black currant flavours apparent. The talc-like tannins give a lingering smooth finish.

Vasse Felix Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot – Margaret River, WA               

Deep red in colour with a crimson hue. Fresh raspberry, red currant and black currant aromas create a platform for delicate herbal nuances of mint and bay leaf. Beautifully integrated, the French oak provides a subtle vanillin and spice fragrance. The wine lands with sweet fruit, fine powdery tannins and a juicy, mouth-watering acid structure.

A medium bodied and beautifully balanced Marlborough Pinot Noir with aromas of cherries and red currants with a touch of fragrant spice. Elegant and juicy with multi-layered fruit flavours, with a hint of subtle oak. This wine has fine structure, silky texture and juicy acidity to give freshness and culminates in a lingering finish.

 

Wirra Wirra Original Blend Grenache Shiraz – McLaren Vale, SA                              

Vivid crimson with a vibrant red hue. Nutmeg and clove spice with juicy ripe raspberry and morello cherries dominating the bouquet. Complex notes of musk and peat supported with vibrant fruity characteristics.

 

Jim Barry ‘The Benbournie’ Cabernet Sauvignon – Clare Valley, SA                        

Released with many years of bottle maturity, this mature and refined cabernet sauvignon displays an intensely deep claret colour. The nose is suggestive of a blockbuster powerhouse of fruit with blackcurrant, menthol, mint and plum flavours. Aromas of rosemary, clove, sage and soy sauce are also apparent. These complex characters have evolved after many years of careful cellaring. The palate is structural, yet non obtrusive with sultry and sexy tannins. This wine has blackberry, prune and valrhona dark chocolate flavours with a tangible and persistent length. The complex flavours of grilled eggplant, roast pumpkin, roast capsicum, nutmeg and coffee add to the character of the wine.

 

Yalumba ‘The Octavius’ Old Vine Shiraz                                                                          

This wine is a deep bold red purple showing exotic fig and plum sauce, mocha and black liquorice notes. The wine is dense and brooding, showing sweet Shiraz fruit concentration and fine seamless tannins. Long and lush through the finish, it has great integration, style and elegance.
